How do I keep up to date?
- The best way to keep up to date is by studying the quarterly Code of Practice Review. By providing full details of all cases
- this gives an insight into how the Code is interpreted and also an indication of what the current ‘hot’ topics are.
Your company will almost certainly receive a copy of this or copies are available free of charge from PMCPA - 'The Code Reviewed' is a summary of the Code of Practice Review by Dr Joan Barnard . If your company subscribes to this
- you can use it as an easy way of identifying cases of interest and the issues they raise.
- 'What not to do?' is an annual review of cases published over the previous year
- It is one of several 'Code in Practice Workshops'
- small group workshops presented by Dr Joan Barnard
- which cover the more difficult areas of the Code. The highly interactive format facilitates in-depth discussion of the issues.
- Discussion of Code issues with colleagues is extremely useful. This can be done on a purely informal
- ad hoc basis
- or more formally e.g. in a regular ‘Promotional Affairs Meeting’
- run in a similar fashion to a journal club.
